Interior Design
Our approach is defined by unseen luxury. Our team - including our two co-founders, designers, sales specialists, and project managers - all share hands-on experience in craftsmanship disciplines such as joinery and upholstery. This foundation gives us a rare depth of understanding: we don’t only design, we know how things are made. Our roots in craftsmanship inform every decision, ensuring that luxury is not only seen, but felt - in the integrity of how each element is created.

We work in four key phases, each designed to ensure clarity, creativity, and craftsmanship at every stage.
Phase 1 – Refining Your Brief Once appointed as your preferred designers and with the design fee proposal approved, we begin by refining your brief - exploring your aspirations and defining a creative direction that reflects your lifestyle and aesthetic goals. This includes early concept development, mood boarding, material and colour palette exploration, and initial layout planning. It sets the foundation for a clear, shared vision of your space.
Phase 2 – Detailed Design Development The approved concept is transformed into a fully resolved design. Every element - from bespoke joinery and furniture to finishes, lighting, and accessories - is refined and coordinated. We work closely with specialists to ensure seamless communication. The design is presented through detailed drawings and CGI renders, allowing you to clearly visualise the final result.
Phase 3 – Presentation We then hold an in-person presentation where we unveil the complete scheme, including visuals, elevations, and a curated selection of materials and finishes. You’ll experience the full design story - fabrics, textures, and finishes presented together. One round of refinements ensures every detail aligns with your expectations. Supplier quotes and costings are then finalised for approval.
Phase 4 – Project Management (Upon Confirmation) Once confirmed, we manage procurement and oversee every aspect of production and installation. Our team coordinates trades and suppliers, ensuring timelines are met and quality is exceptional. Regular site visits and updates offer peace of mind, and we conclude with meticulous furniture placement, styling, and handover - delivering a beautifully finished space that embodies your vision.
As much or as little as desired. Some clients enjoy being part of the creative dialogue; others prefer to entrust the process entirely to us. In all cases, we work with discretion and sensitivity. We take time to build a genuine rapport - ensuring the design fully reflects our clients’ identity and the way they live.
Yes. Many of our clients return for subsequent commissions - whether an additional space, a bespoke furniture piece, or a new home. Each project is a continuation of a shared design language and trust.
Lead times vary depending on design complexity and production schedules. On average, bespoke pieces require 10-16 weeks from design approval to completion.
Each piece can be entirely original or a refined adaptation of an existing concept. Every design is tailored in proportion, materiality, and detailing to its intended space. However, we only undertake work that reflects the Harper Charles name - ensuring every piece upholds our uncompromising standard of design and craftsmanship.
Our pieces are handcrafted by a select network of artisans and workshops, chosen for their skill, integrity, and shared dedication to excellence. Based in the UK, many produce exclusively for Harper Charles, combining traditional techniques with contemporary precision.
Philosophy
Our philosophy is rooted in restraint, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for materials. Every project is an exploration of form, texture, and proportion - designed to feel timeless, intuitive, and deeply personal. We’ve built our company on genuine relationships, believing that personal connection is worth more than any cost. It’s why our team and client base have grown around people, not just projects. For many, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience - and choosing the right design team should come with confidence. It’s about placing your trust in those who care as deeply about your home as you do.
For us, luxury is quiet, considered, and enduring. It lies in craftsmanship, in the beauty of honest materials, and in creating spaces that feel effortlessly one’s own.Harper Charles is led by two founders whose roots are firmly in hands-on craftsmanship. Chay honed his eye for detail in a family upholstery workshop, while Tyler’s training in joinery shaped a profound understanding of how true craftsmanship holds a design together.Their years spent inside the workshop have given them an instinctive grasp of what we call unseen luxury - the precision, integrity, and quiet excellence behind every detail that most will never see, but will always feel. This depth of understanding is what sets Harper Charles apart - ensuring every piece is not only beautifully designed, but built with intelligence, intention, and soul.
