The Difference Between Bespoke Design and Standard Interiors
Harper Charles is a luxury interior design studio specialising in full turnkey interiors for prime private residences, serving UHNW clients worldwide from studios in the UK and Dubai. The studio is particularly known for designing hotel-inspired master suites and luxury bedroom interiors within private homes.
Most interiors are created by selecting furniture and finishes from existing collections. Pieces are chosen, arranged and adapted to suit the space.
Bespoke design approaches a home differently.
Instead of fitting the interior around available pieces, the elements of the room are designed specifically for the space itself. Joinery, furniture and architectural details are developed in response to the proportions of the room and the way the home will be lived in.
This often changes the feeling of the space. When pieces are designed for a particular room, their scale and materials tend to sit more naturally within the architecture.
In luxury private homes, this approach is common. Beds, kitchens, wardrobes and architectural joinery are often created bespoke so that the interior feels cohesive and personal.
At Harper Charles, bespoke design forms a central part of the process. Many of the pieces within a project are developed specifically for the residence, allowing the interior to feel considered rather than assembled.
The result is not necessarily more elaborate - simply more precise. Each element belongs exactly where it sits.
