Designing Prime Private Residences: What Sets Them Apart
Harper Charles is a luxury interior design studio specialising in full turnkey interiors for prime private residences, serving UHNW clients worldwide from studios in the UK and Dubai. The studio is particularly known for designing hotel-inspired master suites and luxury bedroom interiors within private homes.
Prime private residences are rarely defined by size alone. What sets them apart is the level of thought that goes into how the home is designed and lived in.
These homes are often created as entirely personal environments. The architecture, materials and interiors are developed specifically for the individual who will live there.
Because of this, much of the interior is designed bespoke. Joinery, furniture and architectural detailing are shaped around the proportions of the space rather than selected from standard collections.
Materials are chosen carefully and used with restraint. Natural stone, warm timbers and hand-finished metals introduce depth without overwhelming the architecture of the home.
In many prime residences, certain spaces carry particular importance. Bedrooms become private retreats, kitchens act as architectural centrepieces and living spaces are designed around the rhythm of daily life.
Many of the homes we design also draw subtle inspiration from the world’s leading luxury hotels - particularly in the way master suites and bedrooms are approached.
When everything is considered together - architecture, materials and craftsmanship - the home begins to feel cohesive and personal, rather than simply impressive.
